  1. Street Song

From the recording Street Song

Street Song is a song Larry wrote where he reminisces about his years growing up.  He grew up in California, as did all of us.  He paints a vivid picture of that time of his life and wonders where it all went.  We double-tracked his vocal to give it a stereo spread and more depth.  Rob did some amazing rhythm guitar work and even added a choir effect with a guitar synthesizer.

Lyrics

Well I’ve seen this street before.I used to knock on every door on my paper route. My friend Jimmy he was four.Seemed he’d always know the score of the baseball teams.Where did my old friends goFrom years, so very very long ago? Those days have gone awayAnd left me here today, singing this street song.Well the hood still looks the same.Picket fence and wooded grain, on the gates outside. But now I’m old and moved away,Ain’t got nothing much to say ‘bout that life so good.Well its time to hit the road,Got’a light’n up this load of these memories. But this past I’ll keep alive,All those stories will survive, till we meet again … someday.
