From the recording Now That You're Gone

Now That You're Gone was an early song writing effort by Jim Heller, a fellow band mate from the rock and country rock band, Winslow Ridge.  He wrote the song in the 1970's after a not so good love affair.  Can you tell?  We covered the music for him.  He sings the lead and plays lead guitar.

Lyrics

Couldn’t stand to see you, walking out of that door,You’ve never done nothing, baby, like this to me before. Now that you’re gone, the pain is too hard to bear, baby,Now that you’re gone, the pain is too hard to bear. For five good years, baby, you stayed by my side,You were my lover, baby, my friend and my guide,                                   Whenever I needed you, you were always there, baby,Now that you’re gone, the pain is too hard to bear.I know that it’s over, baby, I know that we’re through,Funny now that we’re not together I can finally say I love you.But the words can’t reach you, they’re just like a breeze in the air, baby. Now that you’re gone, the pain is too hard to bear,Now that you’re gone, the pain is too hard to bear.
